MICROPLANE 1

The MicroPlane Rotary Shaper is an excellent tool for shaping anything that you would use a belt sander or a drum sander for. This tool pulls off stock in chips, not dust, keeping the air clear and leaving a nice look on your stock. It also drops chips from the bottom of the tool. When using the follower, it allows for repeatability as the woodworker can trace the same pattern using this bearing follower which fits both the 1″ & 2″ rotary shapers.

At 43 pounds, it’s sturdy and heavy enough to dampen any vibration you might feel, but it’s also light enough to be completely portable, perfect for the home workshop where several benchtops share the same bench top. Its footprint is minimal, at about 2 feet long and just 5 inches wide. The largest diameter piece you can turn (more…)
